The chronology of the KK ministry
The King's Kids network team of Jesus Christ`s Church started in 1997 with the help of David and Kathryn Nettles (from the YWAM ministry), Jessica Yeoman and Marina Zaitseva. It was called the "Ecclesia” team.
In the very beginning it included a kids` choir, a teen group going in for choreography and drama, a football team and a team of leaders. “To know God and make Him known” has always been the main aim of the ministry described.
The 1st year of the KK existance was really difficult. It was a period of the foundation making. Nevertheless in the end of that year a youth missionary trip to Nothern part of Belarus was successfully held. It`s worth mentioning that in the following 2 years the ministry increased in number and several similar teams came into existance.
In 1999 the so called “Go-camp” was held. It was the event which gathered teens from the length and breadth of Belarus. Besides that year is prominent for the number of evangelizing programs held – about 20!
In 2000 our ministry took part in missionary trips around Belarus and, what is no less important, in a Jesus Christ Church`s programm “The city of unforgotten people”.Next a part of the team managed to go to a drama festival in Rostov-upon-Don. In addition one more “Go-camp” took place that year.
In 2001 we were active as well which is proved by the following facts: at first,organization of missionary trips around Belarus; then participation in the "Arctic Youth Explosion" conference (Rovaniemi, Finland) and evangelization in the part of the city where Russian people live; finally participation in the “Youth with a Mission” conference (Perm, Russia); 2 important events of 2002 can`t be forgotten: the outreach to the Ukraine together with the Austrian “King’s Kids” team, and a "Go Camp".
In 2003 we were blessed with the opportunity to go to the "CampFest" festival for christian musical teams in Slovakia. Moreover, evangelizations in Slovakian and Belarusssian cities were held.
The next year, 2004 to be exact, was quite packed with the events.Firstly, the team had a missionary trip around Slovakia; secondly, we participated in the "CampFest" festival again and the youth conference "HIGHWAY" in Rovaniemi, Finland; Also, as an essential part of our ministry, a number of evangelisations in Belarus were held.
In 2005 we had the outreach in Kirgizstan which became a turning point in some of the teens` lives; we couldn`t but miss the opportunity to go the "HIGHWAY" youth conference again.
In 2006 a “Go-camp” appeared to be the most prominent event for our ministry. 4 teams went to serve to 4 different places: St. Petersburg, Rostov-upon-Don, Sevastopol (the Ukraine) and Kotovice (Poland).
Everyone in our KK team remembers the year 2007 due to the following important events: a team-building weakend in March, a“Go-camp-2007” and, what is of particular importance, the 10th anniversary of the King's Kids team of “Jesus Christ`s” Church.
2008 hasn`t finished yet, but it also contributed to our ministry`s biography which we believe will become longer and brighter. We want the KK ministry to flourish and bring glory to our God. And as the proverb says: where there is a will there is a way!
